SciZoom provides opportunities for K-12 students in our region to get up close and personal with Washington University faculty to learn about the latest scientific research and innovation.
Students will be able to ask questions during these virtual events. There is no cost.
Dr. Yehuda Ben-Shahar will share his research and how he studies honey bees and fruit flies. There will be a general discussion about behavior and the genetic influences on behaviors such as sleep and courtship in different species.

Kaert (Kart) Paiste, Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences will discuss how sedimentary rocks are archives of Earth's history, and how we as geologists use different rock types to tell stories about past environmental change and the evolution of life.

Registration is required. There is no cost.
SciZoom events are recorded. You can access the recording using the same YouTube streaming link you receive after you register.
Once registered, participants will receive a confirmation email that includes both a Zoom link and a link to a live-stream video through You Tube. Teachers can share either link with their students.
