For students, the starting line of a new school year happens in August or September, but many educators embrace a marathon approach that requires energy and commitment year-round. Hundreds of teachers, administrators and learning specialists throughout the St. Louis region count on the Institute for School Partnership at Washington University in St. Louis (ISP) to refine their skills, deepen content knowledge and connect with peers to create learning environments that are innovative, engaging and equitable. As we launch another academic year, ISP proudly partners with professionals who know their communities, schools and students better than anyone. Who says school’s out for the summer?
Roughly 22 years into his career, Brendan Kearney knows one thing for certain: teaching science is his jam.

Longtime high school science teacher David Ganey knows the key to engaging students in a deeper understanding of science in the real world lies in focusing what they can see, touch and feel. Read more about how this innovative professional development model that has reached 1,000+ teachers and impacted 35,000+ students has evolved.
New look, new steward, even greater STEM reach! ISP proudly passed on our Investigation Stations to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis this summer. These kid-friendly mobile learning labs will reach even more early childhood learners through the Head Start program!
What a Team! Recovery efforts are well underway at the mySci Resource Center in University City, which sustained substantial damage from heavy rains and flooding that impacted the St. Louis region in the summer. Despite loss of roughly 40 percent of our inventory (mySci kits), the mySci team worked diligently to rebuild kits for first quarter delivery to 300+ partner schools. Work continues to keep things on track for the remainder of the year. We are so thankful for our warehouse staff and everyone on the team for their commitment to our work.
