Our mySci team has been hard at work throughout the summer preparing for the school year ahead!
We hosted the summer institutes in June and July, which were attended by 336 teachers and administrators over four days.
A Rockwood administrator shared: "Everything with the mySci summer training was so well planned out and facilitated. My teachers were really, REALLY happy they decided to attend. They all feel ready to teach their new units! Thank you for all the work that went into planning the summer PD!”
It was lights, camera, action during the July summer institutes with a crew from HEC-TV filming for a story on mySci. This clip highlights one teacher's professional learning in supporting students' exploration of science ideas before explaining or using vocabulary. Thanks to everyone who helped with this story. We also hosted two weeks of storylining for our middle school program with teachers from University City, KIPP, Brentwood, and Ritenour. We produced two new exciting storylines about space and ecosystems.

We Hear You!
Each year we send out a K-8 teacher implementation survey to learn about what is working well, and not so well, in the mySci curriculum.
We want you to know that we continually review this feedback to look for patterns and make adjustments to support our teachers.
That’s why this year, we are beginning the We Hear You initiative. You’ll receive targeted email communications highlighting specific changes we’re making in response to your feedback. For example, we know plants can be tricky to grow, and we are actively working on ways to simplify the process for you. Watch for these communications with our new We Hear You logo.
