When a trusted coach is welcomed into a classroom, learning levels up for teachers and students. Seasoned sounding boards, thoughtful observers and advocates for equity, ISP coaches come alongside teachers to do what they do best: partner with purpose. And that purpose is students.

What things do you need to open up a restaurant? That depends on who you ask.

If you’re consulting a room full of three-year-olds, you might be surprised to learn that menus, dishes, even food, are not top of mind. Dawn Pulsipher, a longtime studio teacher at Julia Goldstein Early Childhood Education Center (JG) recently learned from her young entrepreneurs that there’s something far more essential to the dining experience: crayons. Read more about how Dawn and her colleagues are taking a deep dive into math with support from an ISP coach.

It’s fair to say that Bryant Baker’s relationship with math has evolved.  In high school and college, he resisted advanced math classes and found himself turned off by teachers with an old school mentality. In short, he didn’t like math. Today, he’s teaching it (along with science) to sixth graders at Bernard Middle School and delighted to help students navigate their own paths to and through a subject that’s gotten a bad rap. Read more about how Bryant and other teachers are making the most of coaching with ISP.

A little hands-on help from our friends at WashU.  Executive Director Vicki May had the opportunity to share ISP’s story and impact to 400+ members of WashU’s Advancement Team during a staff day held at the Missouri History Museum February 13. They even had the chance to help build some mySci kits!

Lifelong learning and GREAT questions.  Retired WashU professor and entrepreneur Martin Arthur met with  area high school students participating in the College Prep Program March 18 for a fireside chat about all things STEM, creativity and curiosity. ISP supports this program by connecting and coordinating STEM learning components.
